Duke officials announced on Wednesday that the chief executive officer of Duke University Health System will resign at the end of September.

Duke University Health System CEO Dr. Craig Albanese will leave at the end of the month to take a position with Oakland, California-based Kaiser Permanente, the nation’s largest nonprofit health system. Craig Albanese Albanese joined Duke Health in January 2022 as chief operating officer and assumed his current role in February 2023. Duke Health will begin a search for his replacement.
