DoD Plans for More Reductions in Civilian Staff

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VIRGINIA, AUG 5 – The Defense Technical Information Center will cut staff to 40 civilian roles and pursue AI-driven digital transformation to save over $25 million annually, officials said.

The Defense Department is planning on reorganizing and reducing the size of the staff that supports the Defense Technical Information Center, or DTIC. The Pentagon said through a reduction-in-force effort, DTIC will cut the staff down to 40 civilian positions. It expects the RIF notices to go out by Aug. 25.
