NYE drone show canceled on Folly Beach after drones fall from sky; at least 1 injured

The inaugural Folly Beach New Year's Eve drone show was cut short when drones began to fall from the sky approximately three minutes into the show, according to a press release from the City of Folly Beach Department of Public Safety.
An adult male was struck by one of the drones and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, which were treated on scene by Folly Beach Fire Rescue and released afterward.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident and has been notified, as more drone regulation is needed following the event, according to aviation lawyer Ed Booth.
The Folly Association of Business expressed disappointment over the incident, stating that they were unable to deliver the spectacular drone show planned for the community.
