In Lithuania, a test site for Vanagas drones near the border with Belarus has begun to operate, as reported by local media.
The Defence Innovation Centre's Vanagas testing range opened on Thursday at the General Silvestras Žukauskas training ground near Pabradė, the Lithuanian Armed Forces announced.
At the Vanagas site of the Centre for Defence Innovation, a site has been set up to test drones, ground and aquatic robots, as well as other military technologies, in conditions close to reality.
The experimental space “Vanagas” of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Defence Innovation Center opened on Thursday at the training ground of General Silvestre Žukauskas, where new drone and other defense technologies will be tested. During the opening ceremony, the Lithuanian interceptor drone was demonstrated for the first time in Lithuania, which, using a combat cartridge, destroyed another unmanned aircraft.
