2027 Volvo EX60 Review: Quick Drive
Volvo says the dual-motor model can reach 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and add 155 miles of range in 10 minutes of charging.
Volvo opened orders for the 2027 Volvo EX60 this week in North America, launching its midsize electric SUV starting at $77,500. The model positions itself as a mass-market alternative to the plug-in hybrid XC60.
Built on the SPA3 dedicated EV platform, the EX60 incorporates "cell-to-body" construction to boost efficiency and reduce weight. This architecture addresses software hurdles that plagued the earlier EX90, aiming to deliver a refined, software-defined vehicle.
The EX60 P10 AWD offers 503 horsepower and a 16-minute 10%-80% charge time using a 400-kilowatt charger. The SUV also features a 38.1-centimetre curved OLED center touchscreen integrated with Google Gemini for AI-assisted dialogue.
Volvo officials expect the EX60 to convince buyers to go electric, selling in parallel with the XC60 plug-in hybrid. The EX60 competes with the Audi Q6 e-tron, which starts at $65,795 with comparable range.
The P12 AWD powertrain option arrives later this year, followed by the rugged EX60 Cross Country scheduled for 2028. These additions will expand Volvo's electric lineup and solidify its commitment to diverse EV options.
The Volvo EX60 doesn't look very sporty, but there are some surprises in the test. Can the all-electric SUV overtake the new BMW iX3 and Mercedes GLC EQ?
