Drivetime Mahatma: Rural sidewalks serve purpose, regardless of how often they are used | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Dear Mahatma: I support walkable neighborhoods, but question the need for miles of sidewalk along rural highways, such as along U.S. 270 west of Hot Springs and U.S. 7 south of Bismarck. The design is hard to maintain and invariably ends up an eyesore because of a small strip of grass. Please ask ARDOT to explain the need for these rural sidewalks.
