One Dead, One Hurt, Following Train-Van Crash Near Portage La Prairie

RCMP say the 28-year-old driver died at the scene, while a lone passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation is underway, following a fatal collision between a train and a van, west of Portage la Prairie. Around 8 a.m. on July 14, RCMP were called to the scene of the crash, on Road 40 West, in the R.M. of Portage la Prairie. Mounties say it appears a southbound Manitoba Sheriffs van collided with the train, causing the van to roll into the ditch.
