- Following the post-summer return to classes, Ebola detection in Ituri schools has alarmed parents, with Angele Magani, a mother in Bunia, saying "We are very worried because we don't know which child comes from which family."
- Bunia school official Roger Mungimbo said schools have implemented a "mandatory hand-washing system with soap" and limited classrooms to a maximum of 30 pupils to mitigate transmission risks.
- Congolese government spokesman Patrick Muyaya reported Saturday that "the peak was reached at the beginning of the third week of August," with 10 of 61 health zones recording no new cases for at least 21 days.
