A POLICE OFFICER from Sarajevo died after shooting himself in the head a day earlier when he was about to be detained for suspected links to organized crime, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) confirmed.
An officer of Ilijaš Police Department, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton (MUP KS), suspected of belonging to an international criminal group, died due to self-inflicted injuries.
A dramatic incident has occurred during a major police operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which the local authorities are carrying out in cooperation with Europol. Police officer M. B. from the Ministry of the Interior of the Sarajevo Canton, who is suspected of collaborating with the Swedish mafia, shot himself in the head at the Ilijaš police station after the investigation, according to local media reports. His life is in danger.
