The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense has unveiled a plan for establishing border fortifications, which envisages the construction of a three-layer defense line consisting of tank barriers, minefields, and fortified positions, reaching a depth of 50 kilometers.
As part of the defense program, roads leading to the Belarusian and Russian borders will be closed and the protection of strategic objects will be strengthened.
The Deputy Minister of Defense reminded that Lithuania has already set up technical barriers to prevent enemy troop movements at these border sections.
The country is moving towards the establishment of a line of defence with anti-tank ditches and reinforcements.
Lithuania is building a three-level defense-in-depth line on its border with Russia's Kaliningrad region and Belarus, Lithuanian Deputy Defense Minister Tomas Godliauskas announced to reporters on Thursday.
