- Williams driver Carlos Sainz received a separate five-place grid penalty for failing to slow for yellow flags during qualifying, dropping him from ninth to 14th on the starting lineup.
- Stewards also issued Sainz his second reprimand of the season, while Racing Bulls driver Arvid Lindblad received a "Driving Reprimand" for a track-cutting incident during Friday's practice session in Baku.
