COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) -- State Rep. Chris Murphy (R-Dorchester) is retiring after serving in the South Carolina House for more than a decade, according to a letter obtained from the House Speaker's Office. Murphy, who was elected in 2010 to represent District 98, wrote in the Aug. 20 letter that he would resign his seat, effective Jan. 5, 2026.
