Donaldson Injury a Late Blow for Wallabies Ahead of All Blacks Clash
The Wallabies playmaker Ben Donaldson is ruled out of Saturday's Bledisloe Cup Test in Sydney with a groin injury, prompting coach Les Kiss to name Declan Meredith at No.10.
Tuesday's training injury dealt a blow to the team's hopes of snapping their 12-Test losing streak against the All Blacks, lengthening the odds considerably.
In other team changes, coach Kiss shifted ex-NRL star Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii to partner centre Isaac Henry, while Western Force recruit Harry McLaughlin-Phillips joins the bench as potential Wallaby 1001.
The All Blacks, coming off a 50-19 win last week at Eden Park, have also been forced into squad changes after copping four injuries during their dominant victory.
Saturday's match at Stadium Australia will cap off a historic 'quadruple header,' featuring the Wallabies and Wallaroos alongside Australian sevens teams meeting New Zealand and Fiji.
Australia's Breeder Les Kiss took home Declan Meredith this Thursday in the semi-opening position, among four changes in his XV start to face New Zealand again this Saturday in Sydney.
