Dome and Radar on Schiphol Control Tower Replaced
The control tower at Schiphol has a new dome with radar equipment. After an initial attempt on Saturday, the white dome, called the Radome, was installed on Sunday. The dome protects the radar installation underneath it from the weather conditions at a height of over 100 metres. The old one had been there for thirteen years and was due for replacement, reported the LVNL (Air Traffic Control the Netherlands).
