US deports Afghan woman in first-ever Alien Terrorist Court case over ISIS plot
The United States deported Nazira Haji Zada to Afghanistan after she admitted supporting her family's ISIS-inspired Election Day attack plot. The case was the first to be heard by the Alien Terrorist Removal Court, a 1996 tribunal never previously used.
"Bringing people to court but not showing them or their lawyers the evidence that is intended to be used against them is a clear violation of the right to a fair trial," the woman's lawyers said.
