Dodgers’ Kiké Hernández Likely Sidelined by a Left Oblique Strain After a Scorching Return
On Tuesday night, Mookie Betts homered twice and drove in 5 runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers routed the Colorado Rockies 15-6, with Kiki Hernández, Andy Pages and Will Smith also going deep.
Kiki Hernández had been filling in for Max Muncy at third base while Muncy recovered from a right wrist injury sustained Friday in Milwaukee, and Hernández made his season debut Monday after missing 53 games from offseason elbow surgery.
Hernández led off the third inning with his first home run of the season, then doubled in the fourth as part of a four-run rally, though the broadcast caught him wincing after the hit before he left with a left oblique strain.
After talking with Manager Dave Roberts, Hernández left the game and was replaced by Hyeseong Kim, with Miguel Rojas sliding to third base and later pitching the ninth in his 10th career mound appearance.
Manager Roberts indicated Max Muncy could return Wednesday if his recovery progresses, while Wednesday's all-Japanese series finale will feature Dodgers RHP Shohei Ohtani against Colorado RHP Tomoyuki Sugano .
