'Do not eat': Lidl, Tesco, Iceland and more UK supermarkets issue recalls
Multiple UK supermarkets recall products over undeclared allergens and contamination, including salmonella and botulism risks, with warnings affecting items up to early 2027, the Food Standards Agency said.
- Earlier this year, the Food Standards Agency issued 'do not eat' warnings as Tesco, Lidl and Iceland posted recalls to customers.
- Undeclared allergens drove several recalls, as milk, peanuts, gluten and soya appeared on labels inconsistently, while contamination concerns included Salmonella and Clostridium botulinum.
- Tesco has recalled its Free From Katsu Curry Meal Kit with best-before dates up to December 11, while Rude Health Chocolate Crunch Granola 400g and Woodstock Vanilla Crème Crowns are also recalled.
- Point-of-Sale notices instruct customers to return affected items for a full refund, and anyone unwell after consumption should seek urgent care or call NHS 111, with allergy sufferers advised not to eat listed products.
- Consumers and pet owners face recalls affecting allergy sufferers, while the FSA coordinates with enforcement authorities and allergy organisations, advising businesses selling affected products to stop sales and withdraw items.
