An almost natural frieze dating back to the first century B.C. has been unearthed in a spacious banquet hall, excavated in recent weeks in the central part of the Pompeii ruins. Megalography (from the Greek term meaning "great painting" – a cycle of paintings with large-scale figures) runs through three sides of the room while the fourth side opens to the garden.
