- On Friday, Oct. 3, the Mega Millions jackpot rose to $520 million after no one matched all winning numbers on Tuesday, Sept. 30, with a one-time cash payment option of $240.1 million.
- Data from winners earlier this year indicate four Mega Millions winners, including the Illinois winner on March 25 with $348 million and the Virginia winner on June 27 with $348 million.
- Tickets now include a built-in multiplier that increases non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four, five or 10 times, replacing the former Megaplier paid add-on.
- At retail, players can buy tickets at gas stations, convenience stores and grocery stores.
- Online, tickets can be ordered through Jackpocket in listed states and territories, the USA TODAY Network's official digital lottery courier, with Fernando Cervantes Jr. as a trending reporter.
