Dept. of Human Services: Overdose deaths decreasing in WV
There’s been a 32.79% decline in drug overdose deaths in West Virginia, surpassing the national average decrease, according to year-over-year data for the 12 months ending in August 2024 from the West Virginia Department of Human Services. The data also shows a 41.7% decrease in overdose deaths from January to August 2024 when compared to the same period in 2023.
