- People Not Politicians filed suit on Nov. 20 after objecting to ballot summary language including the phrase 'gerrymandered congressional plan' and submitting more than 300,000 signatures on Dec. 9.
- Of 49,773 pages with signatures, Hoskins' office said Friday that only pages with signatures dated Oct. 14 or later will be checked, while Rachael Dunn claimed no signature checks are happening.
- Judge Brian Stumpe, Cole County Circuit Court, scheduled a trial for next Friday and set Feb. 9 as a fallback date if People Not Politicians and Hoskins cannot agree on revised summary language.
- With Republicans holding six of the eight seats, the redrawn map aims to flip the 5th District, currently held by U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, to satisfy President Donald Trump's demands.
