Demonstrations in several French cities put authorities on alert

Several community groups and civic activists marched in several French cities to condemn racism and police brutality, on a day when the country hosts several international events.

The large number of protests led the Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmanin, to prepare special police surveillance, but so far there has been no record of disturbances or relevant incidents
