A delivery van caught fire on Wednesday afternoon on the A2 from Eindhoven towards Maastricht. As a result, the motorway was closed in that direction between Maarheeze and Weert. Around 1 p.m., the fire caused a delay of nearly sixty minutes towards Limburg. There was a 5-kilometer traffic jam. The queue started at Maarheeze. It was initially reported that it involved a coach, but it later turned out to be a delivery van containing work clothing.
