'I miss breathing': Delhi protesters demand action on pollution
- On Saturday, the Central Pollution Control Board said Delhi's Air Quality Index crossed 400 in several areas, placing readings in the severe category.
- Stubble burning and transport accounted for around 30 per cent and 15.2 per cent of Delhi's pollution on Sunday, the Decision Support System for air quality forecasting said.
- Monitoring stations reported AQI readings of 404 in Alipur, 406 in Nehru Nagar, 420 in Wazirpur, and 418 in Burari across 38 monitoring stations, while Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad recorded very poor levels.
- Authorities warned that Delhi's Air Quality Early Warning System predicts very poor air quality will persist, while the Supreme Court of India will hear the Delhi-NCR pollution case on November 12.
- Since Diwali the capital's air quality has mostly remained poor or very poor, with Friday's AQI of 322 highlighting short-term swings in pollution levels.
