Deezer Launches AI Music Detector for Apple Music, Spotify, and More
Deezer says its detector finds AI tracks with more than 99% accuracy and blocks them from suggestions and editorial playlists.
On Thursday, Deezer launched a free online AI-music detector for users of 20 streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, allowing them to scan playlists for fully AI-generated tracks.
The platform receives nearly 75,000 AI-generated tracks daily, comprising 44% of all new uploads, yet these tracks account for just 1% to 3% of total streams on Deezer.
Built on technology used in-house since early 2025, the detector identifies tracks from major generative models Suno and Udio with over 99 percent accuracy across 27 languages.
Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier stated the tool aims to be an "eye-opening experience" for listeners, positioning the launch as a competitive jab against rivals like Spotify that only tag AI content.
An Ipsos survey shows 80 percent of people want AI music labeled, while a CISAC study estimates that a quarter of creator income—as much as €4bn—could be at risk by 2028.
