Authorities are investigating the deaths of seven juvenile wedge-tailed eagles found shot on a rural property in southern New South Wales.

The Montpellier court today sentenced the operators of the Bernagues park to one year's arrest of the seven wind turbines (Hérault), who were found responsible for the death of a royal eagle. A representative of France nature environnement Occitanie - Méditerranée claims to be "satisfied", while ERL wishes to appeal.

The royal eagle, belonging to a protected species, was the breeding male of a couple who had set up their nest since 2008 three kilometres from the site.

The court ordered the "interim execution" of the measure "to avoid the recurrence of the offence", the president of the correctional chamber said.

The wind turbines of the Bernagues Park in the Hérault will have to stop for a year, as ordered by the Montpellier court on Wednesday 9 April. Justice considered that the operators of this park were responsible for the death of a royal eagle.
