Man Dies After Fight with IGA Security Guard in Longueuil
Police said a 20-year-old guard was arrested after a 42-year-old man was taken to hospital and later died.
On Tuesday evening, a 42-year-old man died after a physical intervention by a security guard at an IGA grocery store in Longueuil, Que.
The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the Centre Jacques-Cartier, located at the intersection of Chambly Road and Coteau-Rouge Road in Longueuil.
Police arrested the 20-year-old security guard after officers responded just before 7 p.m. to reports of an unconscious man at the scene.
The victim was transported to the hospital and declared dead; police erected a perimeter around the Centre Jacques-Cartier and launched an investigation.
