De Zerbi Reveals Ban in Latest Bid to Lift Spurs Spirit: ‘You Try to Find All Solutions’
De Zerbi imposed the restrictions to cut distractions as Spurs seek their first Premier League win and prepare for a home match with Coventry.
- Tottenham head coach Roberto Zerbi took his squad to Marbella, Spain, for a training camp, enforcing a social media blackout and phone ban during meals to foster team cohesion before Monday's match against Coventry.
- Despite committing more than £380million on 10 new signings this summer, the club remains winless in the Premier League and sits at the bottom of the table heading into the Coventry fixture.
- "We worked on the pitch, we stayed together- we removed phones from breakfast, lunch and dinner," Zerbi said during the three-day trip, emphasizing personal responsibility among the squad.
- Fit-Again Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison joined the camp after extended injury layoffs, though Zerbi noted Maddison may only need 10, 15 or 20 minutes on the pitch initially.
- During downtime in Spain, squad members met British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua as he prepares for his fight with Tyson Fury in December before returning for the Coventry fixture.
