- The 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia one month ago killed more than 300 people and injured 4,500, destroying 36,000 homes and damaging 200,000 others, creating a rebuilding challenge valued at more than 30 trillion pesos .

- Anthropologist Juan Carlos Orrego warned that political pressure for quick fixes may compromise reconstruction quality, as the Ministry of Education estimates half a million children had their education disrupted this month.
