DC’s National Airport will close during Army’s June 14 party

  • Officials will close Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on June 14, 2025, to support a military parade in Washington, D.C.
  • The closure responds to the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary celebration, which includes flyovers, parachute jumps, and a fireworks display.
  • The parade, taking place along Constitution Avenue from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., will include a military procession of more than six thousand troops, approximately one hundred fifty armored vehicles, and around fifty helicopters.
  • The airport closure may last up to four hours and could disrupt about 116 flights, with officials urging travelers to verify flight status.
  • Besides airspace restrictions, road closures will impact ground traffic, while the Army Corps of Engineers will protect streets and cover repair costs estimated at $16 million.
