Daryl Hall Reveals He Received a Kidney Transplant: 'I'm Already Starting to Feel Better'
Hall said the surgery was a complete success and expects to be back to normal in a few months, with more music ahead.
On Tuesday, 79-year-old Daryl Hall announced via Instagram that he underwent a successful living-donor kidney transplant a couple of weeks ago.
According to the National Kidney Foundation, living-donor transplants involve a healthy person donating a kidney, which often functions longer and starts working more quickly than organs from deceased donors.
Describing the donor as "very kind and generous," Hall confirmed the procedure was a complete success, though he did not disclose the reason for the surgery.
Hall stated he is "already starting to feel better" and expects to be "back to normal in a few months," with his doctors confirming the procedure as a complete success.
The Dreamtime singer promised "more music and lots of Daryl's House shows" in the future, though Hall previously disclosed health issues including a 2005 Lyme disease diagnosis.
