One of the most common narratives about the funded pension system is unfavorable demographic trends in Lithuania. This means that the social insurance system is at risk, which is based on the fact that the current number of social insurance contributors will decrease and the collected contributions will not be able to meet existing obligations to current pensioners, in other words, it may be necessary to pay lower pensions in the future.
