GULF COAST FROM FLORIDA TO LOUISIANA, JUL 22 – A stalled cold front and tropical moisture will bring 2-3 inches of rain to the Gulf Coast, while a heat dome pushes central US temperatures into the upper 90s, forecasters said.
- Beginning Tuesday afternoon, a plume of tropical moisture brings heavy rain to Florida and Louisiana along the Interstate 10 corridor from Tallahassee to New Orleans, continuing into Wednesday.
- As tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico combines with a stalled cold front, increasing the risk of heavy rain and thunderstorms and threatening beach and outdoor plans from Louisiana to Florida.
- Rainfall totals of about 2–3 inches are expected across much of the northern Gulf Coast, with some locally higher amounts, while driving conditions remain tricky and slow through Friday.
