Shakira, Burna Boy Release Official 2026 World Cup Song
FIFA said royalties from the anthem will support its Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million for children’s education and football access.
On Thursday, May 14, Colombian singer Shakira and Nigerian Burna Boy released 'Dai Dai,' the official FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem, described by FIFA as a celebration of football and global unity.
Shakira teased the track earlier this month from Maracana Stadium in Brazil; the title 'Dai Dai' is Italian for 'Let's go,' featuring lyrics in English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Japanese.
Royalties from 'Dai Dai' will support FIFA's Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million by the end of the World Cup in July for children's football and education access.
Separately, FIFA announced Thursday that Shakira, Madonna, and boy band BTS will headline the halftime show at the final match on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Shakira, who previously sang 'Waka Waka' for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, marks another milestone with this release while embarking on a global tour beginning in June.
With "Waka Waka", the Colombian already contributed the song to the World Cup in South Africa in 2010. Now she is following up with a new potential summer hit – and Germany is also featured in it.
