The Czech Ministry of Defense has approved a plan to purchase 44 Leopard 2A8 tanks from Germany, at a price of $1.6 billion (about 1.36 billion euros).
The board of the Minister of Defense Jana Černochová decided today on the planned purchase of the latest version of the Leopard 2A8 tanks for 34.25 billion crowns. The Minister will now submit to the government a proposal by which the Czech Republic joins the framework agreement of the German Ministry of Defense with the manufacturer KNDS Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG. The signing of the contract is expected in the coming weeks, after approval.
