- On May 8, 2025, Cyclopure, a materials science firm in Evanston, Illinois, announced the launch of Purefast HomeXtreme, a PFAS home water filter.
- The launch builds on Cyclopure's earlier creation of DEXSORB, an innovative adsorbent capable of effectively targeting a wide range of PFAS compounds, irrespective of their chain length or functional characteristics.
- Purefast HomeXtreme is part of Cyclopure’s four-size residential filter line, offering whole-home protection at a capacity of 160,000 gallons and costing $1,200.
- CEO Frank Cassou explained that their Purefast Home filters utilize DEXSORB—an effective material employed by municipal water systems to remove PFAS—and offer this advanced protection for household water at a price under one cent per gallon.
- The filters provide broader protection than reverse osmosis by treating all home water uses, operate for two years before replacement, and include a program to fully destroy captured PFAS.
