- On Thursday, Edeedson Cine Jr., a 23-year-old CVS employee, was fatally stabbed inside the CVS store at 20 E. Montauk Highway, Lindenhurst, at about 6:50 p.m.
- A police news release said it did not say what precipitated the stabbing, and Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad opened an investigation with no arrests announced.
- First Precinct officers found an employee suffering a stab wound to the chest inside the store, and the suspect, described by police as a white man in his 40s, fled on foot.
- CVS spokeswoman Amy Thibault said counseling and support services will be offered to all store employees, noting Cine had worked ten months with CVS and was a valued team member.
