Currys Hires Boss of Nordics Business to Take over as Chief
Fredrik Tonnesen takes over after leading a turnaround in the Nordics, where accelerating sales helped Currys report stronger-than-expected profits.

- Tonnesen has led Currys' Nordics business for the past three years, overseeing a turnaround in performance. Chairman Ian Dyson said he "understands our customers, our colleagues and our culture from the inside."
- Currys shares were 1.6% higher on Wednesday morning following the announcement. Investment director Russ Mould at Bell noted the market is taking a "wait-and-see approach" for the new CEO to prove their worth.
- Last month, Currys reported stronger-than-expected profits for the past year, buoyed by accelerating sales growth in the Nordics. This momentum provides a strong foundation as Tonnesen assumes leadership.
