The Union is falling to 20 percent in the current INSA Sunday trend. At the same time, dissatisfaction with Friedrich Merz is growing – an expert sees the negative trend as difficult to reverse.
In three federal states, the CDU hopes for good results in September. If now elected in the federal government, however, it would be bleak for the Union.
A few weeks before three important state elections, the Union is as poorly represented in an Insa survey nationwide as it hasn't been in nearly five years.
Shortly before the state elections, it does not look good for the ruling parties on the Sunday issue either. The Union has been at its worst since October 2021, while the SPD is only 12 percent. The AfD, on the other hand, is stable at 28 percent.
