The increase in the number of passengers at airports in the first six months was not followed by the same trend in aircraft operations, which were 3.1 percent fewer than in the same period last year, or slightly more than 58.1 thousand.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Çukurova International Airport, which opened on August 10, 2024, has hosted 10.57 million passengers and 68,000 aircraft movements in two years. He stated that in the first seven months of 2026, the airport, which serves Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye, and Niğde, hosted 19,238 aircraft and 3,041,909 passengers, and is an important gateway to the Middle East.
