- In a corresponding roster move, the team placed righty Trent Thornton on the 15-day injured list with a left ankle sprain.
- Before the injury, Thornton pitched in over 48 relief appearances this season, posting a 5-5 record with three saves and a 3.35 ERA in over 48 innings.
