Crystal Palace and Everton Working on Dwight McNeil and Brennan Johnson Swap
The clubs are weighing a deal that would send Dwight McNeil to Palace and Brennan Johnson to Everton after Johnson failed to score in 26 appearances.
Crystal Palace and Everton are in active discussions over a player swap involving winger Dwight McNeil moving to Selhurst Park while Brennan Johnson heads to Goodison Park.
McNeil, 26, nearly moved to Selhurst Park in February when Palace agreed a loan-to-buy deal worth £20m, but the transfer collapsed as required paperwork could not be completed despite the winger passing a medical.
Johnson joined the Eagles in January for a club-record £35m, while McNeil arrived at Everton from Burnley for £20m in July 2022, scoring 15 times in 128 games.
Megan Sharpley, McNeil's partner, criticized Palace on Instagram after the failed move, questioning why football clubs accept "mess and toy with their mental health" despite players' high salaries.
Both clubs meet at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, 22 August for the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign, with negotiations expected to conclude before the match.
