CrowdStrike Moves to Acquire Fiddler and Dreadnode, Adding AI Observability and Testing to Its Security Platform

The company will add observability and red-team testing tools as it rolls out an AI Kill Switch for Falcon Guardian.

  • At the Fal. Con Europe conference in Barcelona on Tuesday, CrowdStrike announced the acquisition of Fiddler and Dreadnode for a combined value of about $495 million, according to The Wall Street Journal.
  • CrowdStrike Chief Executive George Kurtz framed the acquisitions as a shift from security to safety, addressing gaps where AI agents hold valid credentials yet make bad decisions, arguing "The model did it" is not an answer.
  • Fiddler will become Falcon Observe, a "flight recorder for every agent" explaining agent behavior, while Dreadnode tests models against more than 100 known attack methods to identify weaknesses before deployment.
  • Alongside the acquisitions, CrowdStrike launched a Kill Switch in Falcon Guardian, enabling administrators to stop agents in real time; unlike the acquired products, the switch is available today.
  • Both acquired products should be generally available in CrowdStrike's fourth quarter of fiscal 2027, when the teams will join the company's Cyber Superintelligence Lab.
