The 40-year-old striker, a Portuguese international since 2003, was sent off on November 13 in Dublin after elbowing Irish defender Dara O’Shea. It was his first straight red card in 226 appearances for the national team. Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg overturned his initial yellow card decision after a VAR review. Read more
