On Monday morning, a 31-year-old from Taxenbach crashed at an altitude of 3500 metres during a trip at the Großglockner. A rescue helicopter took the seriously injured to the hospital in Innsbruck. There he died of his injuries on Wednesday night.
After a 250-meter fall down a snow slope on the Grossglockner on Whit Monday, a 31-year-old mountaineer from Salzburg succumbed to his serious injuries in an Innsbruck hospital overnight into Wednesday. Police announced this on Thursday. The man fell for unknown reasons at an altitude of 3,500 meters and subsequently slid down the entire face of the Grossglockner.
His injuries were too severe, he now died in Innsbruck; companion remained unharmed.
