BOLIVAR COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, JUL 9 – Two Bayou Academy students died in a collision with a Bolivar County deputy's vehicle while heading to football practice, authorities said the crash cause is still under investigation.
- Two minors died in a crash involving Bolivar County Deputy Brionna Brown on Tuesday morning, July 8, in Cleveland, Mississippi.
- The collision happened when Brown, operating a 2019 Dodge Ram and traveling westbound on Yale Street, struck a 1986 Toyota Truck that was driven northbound on Crosby Road by a minor.
- A minor passenger from Boyle, Mississippi, in the Toyota was declared dead at the scene, while Brown suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
- The Mississippi Highway Patrol said Brown was on duty during the crash and stated, "We are all hurting at the loss of two of our own," while asking for prayers for those affected.
