B.C. Conservatives Remove Vancouver Candidate After Alleged Hitler Posts
The party said Jordan McIntosh is no longer a candidate and would not sit in caucus if elected after screenshots of alleged Holocaust remarks surfaced.
The British Columbia Conservatives removed Vancouver-Strathcona candidate Jordan McIntosh from the election slate on Wednesday following accusations of posting online remarks about Hitler and the Holocaust.
NDP candidate Callista Ryan shared screenshots on social media revealing posts under the name DeathNight that minimized the Holocaust and the motives behind the genocide.
One post claimed Hitler "may not have intended death" during the Holocaust, arguing "lots of Jews died" due to volume, not because he "hated them specifically."
Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson, who vowed to "stand against hate" during the leaders debate, confirmed McIntosh is no longer a candidate and would not sit in the caucus if elected.
McIntosh declined to comment when reached by phone regarding his removal, which occurred less than an hour after Ryan posted the screenshots on social media.
