Cowboys signing DE Jonathan Bullard to 1-year deal
Veteran defensive end Jonathan Bullard signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal to strengthen the Cowboys’ defensive front after a recent trade, NFL Network reported.
On Saturday, the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a one-year contract with veteran defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard worth up to $2.5 million, NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo reported.
Dallas is transitioning to a base 3-4 defense, and the 6-3, 290-pound Bullard fits the mold of the bigger defensive end new defensive coordinator Christian Parker is seeking.
Last season with the New Orleans Saints, Bullard logged 327 defensive snaps and missed zero tackles across 209 run-defense reps, earning a 63.9 run-defense grade.
Agent Jon Perzley confirmed the deal, which Bullard signed on his late grandmother Joyce's birthday; she was a Cowboys fan known for "hollering at the TV" during games.
Entering his 11th season with his seventh NFL franchise, Bullard fills a roster void created by the departure of Oza Odighizuwa, providing the Cowboys a low-risk depth addition.
