CMA Taps Brittany Schaffer To Succeed Sarah Trahern.
Schaffer brings more than 15 years of music-industry experience and will join the association in September before taking over in 2027.
The Country Music Association announced Wednesday that Brittany Schaffer will be its next Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Sarah Trahern after her 13-year tenure.
Following Trahern's retirement announcement earlier this year, the CMA Board of Directors launched a national search with executive search firm Buffkin Baker, which opened to applicants in February.
Schaffer brings over 15 years of industry experience spanning entertainment law at Loeb & Loeb LLP and artist partnerships at Spotify, while currently serving as Dean of the Mike Curb College at Belmont University.
Under a strategic transition plan, Schaffer will join the CMA on September 8 to ensure continuity before formally succeeding Trahern as Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2027.
CMA Board Chairman Jay Williams stated the organization believes Schaffer is the leader to carry the CMA into its next era and expand Country Music's influence well beyond Nashville.
