Council of State Advises Flanders Not to Reverse Planned Stricter Rules for Low-Emission Zones (Lez)
The Council of State has issued a negative recommendation for scrapping the tightened LEZ regulations in Antwerp and Ghent. Flanders had previously decided that the planned stricter rules would not be implemented starting January 1, 2026. The Council now states that this scrapping will have a negative impact on public health, which must be addressed.
